Alright, I have done my very first wiki and it did not turn out so bad.  The subject matter seemed like a good one for any teacher who wanted to make the classroom more techy on a shoestring budget.

The hardest part about making a wiki, for me, was knowing what to put in.  The link to the site, obviously, but there is so much out there to work with.  I decided to give readers a taste with a link to something that is helpful in any setting, making a google form.  Nothing makes your job harder than having to decipher someone's handwriting.  The author of the esltech blog provided a handy universal tool and that was just the tip of an iceberg of tips, advice, and resources.

As I went along with the project, I got some ideas of my own for how to make use of this in a DRE class.  Students complain so much about research and having to analyze texts, and it is understandable.  The readings are not always exciting, but they are the only sources the department allows.  Creatively incorporating the lesson with something like what we are doing would be a good way to shake things up.
