Story of the Magical Land of Chocolate and Chocolate

Like the title says, it's all about the chocolate.  I am a lover of chocolate, it is my favorite, and I have no problem admitting to it.

My friend sent me information about a festival that they have every year.  Forget Halloween, this is where you celebrate the end of October.  Granted, it's not in the actual spirit of All Hallows Eve, but I would not mind knocking on a few doors (or in this case booths) around Perugia.

From a teaching standpoint, I like how you can collect from so many different sources to create your own news article.  It teaches students basic editing skills because they have to pick out information that is either irrelevant or extraneous to the topic at hand.  In addition, students learn things that they might not have known about the topic because they have to sift through so many different perspectives.

I chose Eurochocolate because it involves looking at different cultures, what's out there and it's something I can get excited about.  One thing I teach my students is that a story is to: inform, persuade, or entertain.  This story does a bit of all three.  It informs about the festival and entertains with some of the exhibits they have.  All of it is to persuade the reader to either learn more or, maybe, visit the place themselves.

If you are ever in Umbria, in October, you must go to this place.

Here is my storify for Eurochocolate.  The greatest chocolate festival ever.
